Looking back on the journey this far - crazy Bangkok, beautiful Hua Hin, Peacefull Lang Suan, breathtaking Phuket

We decided to post this blog as a special Christmas gift to all our readers. We also want to make use of this opportunity to thank all our readers, to thank the people who made this journey unforgettable this far and to thank God for blessing us beyond our wildest expectations.

Thank you mom and dad, sis, friends and family for an amazing farewell party:

 My awesome punch...
(Steven can actually tell you a few stories about the punch of the punch... And also about his friend George - never saw the guy but he kept on calling him)

The journey began the 11th of August at O.R Thambo. We were very nervous and extremely excited.

Thanks to our family for dropping us of at the airport and thanks to our friends that supported us and helped us to get everything sorted.

So there we were on our way to Thailand - first time ever that Steven and I left the borders of South Africa. The friendly staff of Etihad airways made the very uncomfortable journey quite enjoyable.

We landed in Bangkok just to be greeted by very warm and humid weather - it was like walking into a brick wall. After 2 days in the city that never sleeps we went down to Hua Hin to do our TESOL course.

From there I went to Lang Suan and Steven decided to make good friends with a mosquito. The mosquito gave him Dengue Fever as a welcoming present. So Steven was admitted to Bangkok International hospital after some quick work from my sis and the insurance company:
This forced me to test out the train system in Thailand. The first time ever for me on a train. And now I had to do this in a strange country where no one understands English:

After Steven got better he did an English camp and then came down to join me in Lang Suan.

We explored Lang Suan a bit and got loads of help from our good friend Khun P'Nan.

We spent a very interesting weekend on a small island (Koh Pitak) with Thai people - we felt like Robinson Crusoe.

We then went down to Phuket where Martin of ECC helped us out with employment. We traveled the whole of Phuket with only 1500 (or something ridiculous like that) in our wallets. And we could eat, drink, explore and have fun all the time. Thank God for providing for us all the time.

We walked barefoot over mountains and made real tasty South African food.

We made our way back to Hua Hin again where we slept on a train station for one night:

Then we came all the way up to Bangkok because we were saved from definite misery from Lars at SIAM computer and Language school in Min Buri. (Okay Lars this was your special mention - now you are famous as well )
Steven and I both got excellent jobs and you have to keep on reading to find out what happened after we arrived in Bangkok.
Merry Christmas to all our readers (and the new readers that will still join our already big viewer list) may God bless you abundantly and may you be a blessing to others.
