After 2 hours of sleep Brian went to the school to teach and
I stayed at home. I decided that I’m going to explore Lang Suan on our newly
rented scooter - got up, showered and off I went.
Brian said I must go search for the beach as it was not far
from where we stayed, so after half an hour I finally saw I sign that said beach
(or something)… So I turned into this random no name street and thought by
myself “Self, if I don’t see the sea in I few meters I’m going back home.” Well
after missing a turn of at another sign. I just drove down another street and I
thought that it would probably be a better idea just to go home
So I turned around and went back. But I refused to be
defeated by the biggest mass of water on earth, so I decided to look around for
just a while more. So I turned left here, and right there, went straight, made
another few turns and voila - there it was - a sea that looked more like a dam
than a sea.
The thing about finding
the ocean – what do you do when you find tons of water? Exactly – nothing. So I
went back home to get dressed up in my best church outfit to go to the school
and introduce myself. So I put on my makeup, waxed my hair, trimmed my nails…..
LOL there is no way (I put on half ironed clothes, flattened (sorta) my hair) and
there I went.
Brian came to meet me at the gate and introduced me to 700
teachers after which we went back to the foreign languages department and sat
in the bliss of the aircon.
After school I took Brian to show him the ocean (he stayed
here for a week already and never went to see the ocean… tsk tsk tsk). Here are
some pictures of a temple next to the ocean and a massive cement boat close to
the temple:
